Many insurance plans offer coverage for natural family planning education. Through My Catholic Doctor, eligible patients may be able to receive unlimited NFP visits with no out-of-pocket cost.
Although the Affordable Care Act requires insurance companies to cover NFP, it is still a work in progress. Coverage varies by insurance company and individual plan, so benefits cannot be guaranteed until they are verified. Many insurance companies incorrectly apply deductibles and copays to NFP instruction. My Catholic Doctor can help determine whether your plan covers these visits and explain any costs before you begin.
My Catholic Doctor is fighting on multiple levels to get insurance companies to cover NFP as a preventative service.
At the moment though, there are some insurance companies that reliably cover NFP. If you have any of the following insurances, your NFP instruction can be covered through the My Catholic Doctor platform as long as you see a collaborating provider through My Catholic Doctor in your state that refers you to NFP first (since this is a preventative appointment, this first appointment should be covered as well):
